A privileged point of access to information on land tenure issues in developing countries

The “Land Tenure and Development” Portal’s vocation is to become a privileged point of access for all those - operators, technicians, elected officials, decision-makers and researchers - who would like to educate themselves on the subject of land tenure and the management of renewable resources, an area of strong stakes for developing countries. Born from the work of the French Cooperation’s Technical Committee on “Land and Development”, this site collects and offers in particular French-language resources that were not previously easy to access. It is co-managed by a group of organisations whose fields of expertise and available scientific and/or operational information ensure that the portal’s content will regularly be enriched with a diversified range of resources.

Most of the information available here addresses the issue of land tenure in the current context of French-speaking countries, notably in Africa. The portal aims, in time, to document this issue in other geographic arenas. We are counting on your opinions so that this site can represent the debates on the issue and become a true platform for the exchange of information on land tenure issues in developing countries in general.
